This book made me so uncomfortable. I kept squirming uncomfortably and eventually dumped it before returning to it at a later date; despite it being barely a hundred pages. Then again, the content warning should have stopped me from reading it; but I felt it could not get worse than Fifty Shades of Grey. Boy, was I wrong.
Now, this book just was not my thing. The themes were quite heavy and I went into it knowing what to expect but still emerged baffled; because, there are kinks and there are KINKS. I need to mention at this point that every act that took place in the book was with the full consent of the party (implied and explicit).
Our FMC was super popular in Highschool, dated a jock, flowed with the in-crowd, and by implication, was also a bully. She hooked up with the MMC(whom was an outlier) and he was bullied by her then boyfriend and eventually rusticated. They next time they would be is at the party where it all goes down.
They threw dares back and forth during the party and one thing led to another and she had to become his slave for the night. What would follow is something I have only imagined. The erotic-humiliation play, flagellation, knife and blood play, bondage, and orgies are something out of a sex-fest.
This book is wonderfully written and the ease with which I was reading meant I should have finished it in less than two hours, but still. I gave this book a 4/5 rating because outside the heavy themes, it was a good read.
