It’s almost fall, and I’ve been compiling different lists with recommendations for all of you to help build your reading lists this year.
Of course, I couldn’t miss out on writing about my own favorite fall audiobooks.
These books are simply perfect for fall – I love the narrators, and if you listen to audiobooks, you know that a good narrator can truly make or break a story.
With these audiobooks, the narrators are absolutely amazing.
These books are perfect for listening to this fall while you go about your day, and I can tell you for a fact that they are incredible.
Jupiter Rising by Gary D. Schmidt – narrated by Christopher Gebauer

Jack is hurting after losing his foster brother, Joseph, and now he’s caring for Joseph’s daughter, Jupiter.
Running cross-country with Jay, who once hurt Joseph, seems impossible. But Jay is grieving, too.
Slowly, they find trust and healing while helping little Jupiter.
Just when Jack feels strong again, Jupiter’s grandparents come to take her away, and his whole world cracks.
I think this book is perfect for autumn because it’s gentle, powerful, and full of hope, like a brisk fall morning.
Jack’s courage and caring will truly warm you.
Christopher Gebauer narrates Jack’s journey with such tenderness that you’ll feel every step of his heartbreak and every hopeful moment, just like I did.
The Ornithologist’s Field Guide to Love by India Holton – narrated by Elizabeth Knowelden

Beth, a smart and kind bird expert, is chasing a magical bird, but Professor Devon, a charming rival, snatches it first.
Their rivalry is funny and sweet, especially when they must work together to win Birder of the Year.
I think their banter is adorable, and you’ll love how they try (and fail) to stay apart.
There are helicopter parasols, fancy tea, and so much bird drama that it feels like a cozy fall adventure.
Elizabeth Knowelden narrates with a sparkly, playful voice that makes it even better.
If you want something romantic, silly, and magical for autumn afternoons, this is your perfect cup of tea. I smiled the whole way through, and I think you will too!
City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab – narrated by Reba Buhr

Cass is a brave girl who almost drowned – well, actually drowned – and now she can step into the ghost world.
That’s spooky enough, but her best friend is a ghost too.
When Cass and her family visit Scotland, she meets even more spirits, and some are dangerous.
I think this story is so perfect for crisp fall nights, with its chills, old castles, and brave friendships.
Cass is such a wonderful narrator, and Reba Buhr brings her courage and curiosity to life in the best way.
You’ll want to curl up in a blanket and follow Cass through secret passageways and haunted places.
It’s eerie, touching, and full of heart, and that makes it a great autumn read if you love a sprinkle of spookiness.
Come and Get It by Kiley Reid – narrated by Nicole Lewis

Millie is a hardworking student and resident assistant who wants to build her future, but gets tangled up with a visiting professor and her complicated group of students.
This book feels so real, like walking through campus on a crisp fall day.
Millie’s dreams, messy mistakes, and hard choices reminded me how tricky growing up can be.
Nicole Lewis narrates Millie’s voice with so much honesty and warmth that I really felt connected.
There’s drama, laughter, secrets, and a look at what happens when you chase something that might not be yours to take.
I think this is such a perfect autumn book because it combines friendship, ambition, and a bit of heartbreak. I couldn’t stop reading, and I think you’ll feel the same.
Counting Miracles by Nicholas Sparks – narrated by Holter Graham and Nicholas Sparks

Tanner, a soldier who’s never wanted to settle down, returns home to find his roots after his grandmother dies.
I loved how he tries to uncover his family’s secrets while meeting Kaitlyn, a kind single mom.
There’s also Jasper, an old man with a dog, hoping to save a legendary white deer.
These three lives slowly weave together, and we get to see that miracles really can happen.
Nicholas Sparks and Holter Graham narrate with a soft, heartfelt style that feels so comforting.
I think this book is perfect for fall because it talks about finding where you belong and believing in second chances. It left me hopeful and a little teary in the best way.
Every Moment Since by Marybeth Mayhew Whalen – narrated by Cassandra Campbell, George Newbern, Kirby Heyborne, Jane Oppenheimer, Macleod Andrews, and Renata Friedman

This story feels like sitting on a porch, breathing in autumn air, and remembering what’s been lost.
A little boy named Davy disappeared, and now, years later, his family faces the pain all over again when clues resurface.
I felt so drawn to how each person carries their secrets and tries to heal.
These voices – so many wonderful narrators – bring the whole small Southern town to life.
It’s about regret, truth, and hope, and it feels just right for fall, when everything is turning over and changing.
I think you’ll connect to the characters trying to forgive themselves and move forward.
It’s haunting but healing, like autumn itself, and I loved every quiet, thoughtful moment.
Love at First Book by Jenn McKinlay – narrated by Brittany Pressley

Emily, a sweet librarian, moves to Ireland to help her favorite author finish her final book. That alone made me swoon.
She then meets the author’s grumpy son, Kieran, who isn’t happy about it.
I loved seeing them slowly warm up to each other, and Brittany Pressley’s narration makes it so cozy and heartfelt.
There’s something about Irish villages in autumn that feels perfect, right?
Emily’s journey to find her own adventure, while helping Kieran’s family, is such a charming love story.
Books, bookstores, and a sprinkle of romance – it’s basically fall in a cup.
If you love warmhearted, bookish tales with a hopeful spark, you’ll want to snuggle up with this one. I adored it, and I think you will too.
The Blue Hour by Paula Hawkins – narrated by Gemma Whelan

Grace lives alone on Eris, a tiny, unreachable island, surrounded by the sea.
When a shocking secret from the past emerges, her peace shatters.
I loved how this book gives you a chill in the best way, with secrets, art, and loneliness woven together.
Gemma Whelan narrates with a haunting, calm voice that suits the mood perfectly.
If you enjoy gothic, spooky stories with a slow-burning mystery, this one is such a good pick for fall.
I was hooked, wondering what would come out of the shadows next, and I think you’ll get wonderfully lost in it too.
Canto Contigo by Jonny Garza Villa – narrated by Alejandro Antonio Ruiz

Rafie, a talented mariachi singer, moves to a new school hoping to shine, only to meet Rey – the same boy he kissed months ago, and now his rival.
I adored how their rivalry slowly turned into something sweet and brave.
Alejandro Antonio Ruiz narrates with so much spirit and heart, you’ll want to sing along.
Rafie’s love for his abuelo, his culture, and the music is so touching.
This story about family, dreams, and first love feels perfect for fall, when your heart is a little tender and hopeful.
It’s like a beautiful song that stays with you, and I think you’ll fall for it just like I did.
Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor – narrated by Steve West

This is a story for dreamers, and I think it’s perfect for fall when everything feels a bit magical.
Lazlo, a shy librarian, has always been drawn to the lost city of Weep.
When a hero appears and offers him a chance to explore the place of his dreams, Lazlo finally dares to leave behind his quiet life.
I loved how this story blends wonder and mystery, like a fairytale on a chilly evening.
Steve West’s narration is full of magic and hope, which made every word sparkle.
Lazlo’s courage to follow his dreams – even when they seem impossible – is something that inspired me so much.
You’ll love wandering with him through hidden worlds and impossible places, wrapped in autumn’s wonder.
If you also listen to a lot of audiobooks, let me know who your favorite narrator is and which one you plan to unwind with this fall.
