I’m one of those people who absolutely loves giving gifts.
If you’re in my life, chances are you’ve already received something from me at one point or another and if you haven’t, it’s probably just because I’m still thinking about what to give you.
I take every opportunity I get to gift something to the people I love. Of course, I also love receiving gifts too.
But thing about both giving and receiving gifts is that it can get a little pricey, especially when you have a lot of people in your life that you genuinely want to spoil.
And, the economy is probably the worst we’ve seen since COVID-19.
If you still want to show love in this special way, you really have to be smart and crafty about it.
That’s why I’ve put together a list of several bookish gifts that I think are awesome and still super affordable.
Every single gift on this list is under $25, and they’re absolutely perfect for giving to your loved ones.
I made sure to include a variety of things that aren’t books (though if you want actual book recommendations, I’ve got you covered in another post where I shared the best books I’d give my best friend this Christmas).
So, if you’re looking for more budget-friendly, thoughtful gifts that won’t break the bank, keep reading, this list is for you.
Enamel Book Pins Set

This set of enamel pins features iconic literary symbols—tiny open books, quills, and classic glasses—that look super cute pinned to bags or jackets.
I have a few pins like these on my tote bag, and they always spark conversations with other book lovers. Each pin is about an inch or so, with bright, durable enamel that doesn’t chip easily.
They come in a set of 4 or 5, so you can gift them all at once or save some for future gifts. The backing is sturdy, and they sit flat, so they don’t snag on clothing.
Bookish Soy Candle

This soy candle smells exactly like walking into an old library—think musty paper, aged wood, and that classic book smell.
The jar is clear glass with a minimalist label that fits nicely on any desk or bookshelf.
It burns cleanly and lasts for about 30-40 hours, so it is a cozy companion for reading nights.
I personally love lighting one of these when I’m curled up with a new novel. It’s small enough to fit on a bedside table but has a scent that fills the room just right.
Canvas Book Tote Bag

This canvas tote is sturdy, roomy, and features a simple black print of the words Books & Coffee alongside a little steaming mug icon.
The handles are reinforced, so you can carry a heavy stack of books without worry. I have a tote very similar to this one that I use when I visit bookstores or libraries.
The fabric is thick cotton, washable, and the print doesn’t fade after a few washes. It folds up easily in a purse or backpack for spontaneous book runs.
Magnetic Bookmark Set

These magnetic bookmarks are super practical because they clip securely on the page without slipping.
The ones I bought have vintage botanical illustrations—beautiful flowers and leaves with soft pastel colors–but these ones have a super cute cat-themed design.
They’re laminated, so they’re waterproof and don’t bend.
Each pack includes 8 bookmarks, so your giftee can mark multiple books or share them with friends.
They’re slim, so they don’t add bulk or damage book pages, which is always a worry with flimsy bookmarks.
Literary Quote Socks

These comfy cotton socks come in fun colors with different bookish quotes knitted into the side in white letters.
The material is soft but stretchy, which is perfect for lounging around while reading on a chilly day. The design is subtle enough to wear outside but fun enough for fellow readers to notice.
They’re one-size-fits-most, so you don’t have to worry about sizing too much. The cuff stays up without squeezing tight, which is great for comfort during long reading sessions.
Hardcover Reading Journal

This hardcover journal has a lovely matte finish with gold-foil lettering on the cover.
Inside, it’s laid out with sections for tracking books read, favorite quotes, and thoughts about each read.
There are even prompts like What surprised you? and Would you recommend this book? that make journaling easier.
The pages are thick enough to avoid bleed-through from pens or markers, and the size is perfect for slipping into a bag or sitting on a bedside table.
I’ve kept one of these for a few months and it really helped me remember details I might’ve forgotten otherwise.
So Many Books, So Little Time Ceramic Coffee Cup

This ceramic mug has a classic white background with black text reading So Many Books, So Little Time.
The font is playful but readable, and the mug holds about 12 ounces, which is great for coffee, tea, or hot chocolate while reading.
It’s dishwasher and microwave safe, which makes it practical for everyday use. I actually own one very similar, and it’s my go-to mug for lazy Sunday mornings with a good book.
LED Clip-on Book Light

This clip-on book light is a lifesaver for night owls who hate disturbing their roommates.
It has a flexible neck so you can direct the light exactly where you want it, so it is perfect for highlighting just the page you’re on.
The LEDs are bright but soft, so they don’t strain your eyes.
It’s rechargeable via USB, lasts for several hours on a single charge, and has multiple brightness settings.
I’ve gifted this to several friends, and they rave about how it transformed their late-night reading.
Classic Hardcover Edition of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

This beautiful hardcover edition of Pride and Prejudice has a decorative cloth cover with gold embossing on the spine.
The pages are cream-colored with a slightly textured finish, giving it an elegant vintage feel.
It’s a timeless classic that fits easily in a backpack or handbag. I always recommend gifting classic novels like this because they never go out of style and are treasured by readers of all ages.
Literary Enamel Keychain

This enamel keychain is a tiny hardcover book charm, complete with a little metal clasp to attach to keys, bags, or even zipper pulls.
The cover design mimics an old library book, with tiny printed details that look realistic.
I bought one for myself and use it as a bag charm, and it’s small but noticeable, and it always makes me smile.
And, it’s super affordable and a cute little reminder of your love for books.
Set of Literary Quote Stickers

These stickers come in a set of 100 with different literary quotes like Read More Books, Book Nerd, and Escape into a Good Book.
They’re waterproof and made from durable vinyl, so you can stick them on laptops, water bottles, or notebooks without worrying about peeling.
The colors are mostly black and white with a few gold accents, so they suit any style.
I’ve used these on my planner and my phone case and they’re a fun way to show off your bookish pride.
Reusable Book Cover Fabric Protective Sleeve

This fabric book cover fits most paperback books and protects them from wear and tear, which is a must for those who carry books everywhere.
It’s made from soft cotton with different patterns, and mine has tiny books and reading glasses on a dark background.
The cover slips on easily and stays put, and it folds flat when not in use. It’s an inexpensive way to keep a book looking new and feeling special.
Portable Book Stand

This lightweight, foldable book stand holds books open hands-free, which is super helpful when you’re taking notes or cooking while following a recipe book.
It’s made from bamboo, so it looks natural and elegant on any desk or table.
The height and angle are adjustable, and it folds flat for easy storage or travel. I often use mine at my desk or when I’m reading in bed.
Bookish Phone Grip PopSocket with Books Design

This phone grip has a design featuring a stack of colorful books and the words Book Lover in a fun font.
It sticks easily to the back of a phone or tablet, which makes it more comfortable to hold during long reading sessions or browsing ebooks.
It rotates 360 degrees and doubles as a stand, which is perfect for watching book trailers or video reviews.
It’s a small gift but always appreciated by anyone who loves reading on the go.
Book Lover Reusable Stainless Steel Straw Set

I don’t know about you, but sipping tea or coffee while reading is my ultimate chill time.
These stainless steel straws come with a cute Book Lover engraved pouch, so your giftee can sip sustainably wherever they go.
I’ve gifted this to my eco-conscious book club pals, and they loved the combo of practicality and personality.
The set usually comes with a cleaning brush, which makes it easy to keep them spotless between uses.
Vintage Library Card Bookplates Stickers

If your reader likes to lend out their books or just loves organizing their collection, these vintage-style library card stickers are a total win.
I’ve been using mine to add a nostalgic, personal touch to my favorite paperbacks, and it’s like giving each book a little identity.
They come in a pack of 200, so it lasts forever and can also be shared with fellow book lovers.
Cozy Knit Book Sleeve with Pockets

This knit book sleeve is cute, warm, and soft, so it is perfect for slipping over a paperback to protect it while on the go.
I love the way the extra little pocket is sewn in, which fits a pen or a bookmark. I bought one for myself last winter and it quickly became an essential reading bag.
It comes in fun colors and feels like a tiny sweater for your book.
Mini Pocket-Sized Literary Quote Notebook

Sometimes, inspiration strikes when you least expect it—while waiting in line, on the bus, or during a quick break.
This pocket-sized notebook features famous literary quotes on the cover and smooth, quality paper inside.
I always carry one in my bag to jot down random thoughts or favorite lines I want to remember.
It’s small enough to not be a hassle but just right to capture those little flashes of creativity.
Whimsical Bookish Enamel Pin

This pin is such a mood.
It’s a colorful design with cats in different positions, so it is perfect for the reader who feels like books give them superpowers.
I pinned mine to my backpack, and it’s a daily reminder of why I love reading. It’s lightweight, durable, and just the right size to add some fun to any outfit or bag.
Soft Cotton Reading Scarf

Scarves are one of my favorite cozy accessories, and this one has a beautiful print of scattered letters and open books.
It’s lightweight, breathable, and instantly adds a bookish vibe to any outfit.
I wore mine on chilly mornings while heading to the library, and people kept asking where I got it.
It’s a gift that wraps your book lover in warmth and style.
Miniature Classic Book Keychain

This tiny book keychain looks like a miniature version of a classic novel and it’s complete with printed pages.
I’ve got one hanging on my keys, and it’s an adorable conversation starter wherever I go. It’s light, durable, and perfect for any book lover who likes subtle accessories.
You can find editions of classics like Jane Eyre or Great Expectations.
Literary Removable Quote Wall Decals

If your giftee loves decorating their reading nook or bedroom, these wall decals with famous literary quotes are a neat gift.
They’re easy to apply and remove, and they leave no marks, which is great for renters or those who like to change things up.
I put a few up around my desk, and it definitely makes the space feel more inspiring.
Softcover Lined Novel Journal

This journal looks like a classic novel from the outside but opens to blank, lined pages perfect for writing.
I gifted this to a writer friend who loves classic literature, and she said it was like getting two gifts in one: the beauty of the book cover and the freedom to fill pages with her own stories.
It’s a small thing but feels special every time you use it.
LED Book Page Holder with Timer

This nifty gadget clips onto books to keep pages open hands-free, but it also has a built-in LED light for night reading and a timer so the light turns off automatically.
I’ve borrowed one from a friend and was so impressed.
It’s perfect for those late-night reading sessions where you don’t want to wake up the whole house.
It’s compact and rechargeable too, which is a huge plus.
Book-Themed Washi Tape Set

If your giftee is a planner lover or enjoys journaling, this washi tape set is a lovely little gift.
The tapes come printed with tiny books, quotes, and literary symbols in soft colors.
I use mine to decorate my reading journal and bookmarks, making everything feel extra personal.
It’s a creative gift that keeps on giving.
Funny Book Lover’s Pin – Currently Reading

This hilarious enamel pin reads Currently Reading in a bold, cheeky font.
It’s perfect for that friend who loves to joke about how much time they spend putting off real work by reading instead.
It’s bright, funny, and lighthearted, so it is a guaranteed smile-maker.
These are my personal favorite cozy, quirky, and budget-friendly gifts that any book lover would treasure.
I hope sharing these picks and a bit about why I like them makes choosing your Secret Santa gift easier and more fun.
Honestly, giving something bookish feels like sharing a little piece of joy that lasts way beyond the holidays.
