Kindle Unlimited is honestly perfect for epic fantasy readers because those books are long and this way you’re not paying per book every time you start a new series.

It’s just a monthly subscription that gets you millions of titles, so you can read as many chunky fantasy books as you want without your wallet feeling it.

I’ve added my link here if you want to sign up, and it helps support the blog too, so it’s a nice little way to give back if you’re already considering it.

This post rounds up the best epic fantasy books you can read right now on Kindle Unlimited, so take your pick and get lost in one of these worlds.

Stealing the Light by Peter Wacht

Stealing the Light

This one has a princess and a thief teaming up, and I just love that combo.

Celindria wants her stolen crown back after her father is killed, and she needs help from Mikel, a shadowy man who runs the underworld.

They don’t trust each other at first, but a bigger danger is coming that could destroy everything.

Dark magic, old enemies, and a slow-building bond between two very different people make this such a fun start to a series.

If you like enemies who slowly become allies, you’ll adore this one.

Battle Mage by Peter Flannery

Battle Mage

My heart goes out to Falco in this one.

He feels weak and doubts himself, especially since he’s the son of a man everyone fears.

So, he heads to a school for warriors hoping to prove himself, but the real fight is happening inside him.

Dark shadow creatures are threatening the world, and dragons are the only hope, but even the queen isn’t sure Falco has what it takes.

This is such a touching underdog story wrapped in an epic, high-stakes world.

The Heat of Seas by DeAnna Hill

The Heat of Seas

A princess is promised to marry into a rival kingdom, and everyone around her is torn between love and loyalty.

It’s loosely inspired by Atlantis, which I think is such a fun twist.

Expect slow burn romance, morally grey characters, and a good bit of heartbreak.

Also, this one is written for grown-up readers and ends on a cliffhanger, so be ready for book two.

Curse of the Dragon’s Eye by Eoghan R. Cunningham

Curse of the Dragons Eye

This story melted my heart. A young boy, taken as a slave, finds a crystal dragon skeleton and accidentally bonds with a magical gem that gives him fire powers.

He just wants freedom, but now he’s on the run with a mysterious travel companion and a sorcerer chasing them both.

I love that this book has a diverse cast and such a tender, hopeful feel even in dark moments.

A King’s Bargain by J.D.L. Rosell

The Kings Bargain

Tal is tired. He’s a legendary hero who just wants peace and quiet after years of battling monsters and warlocks.

But life has other plans when a mysterious visitor pulls him back into danger, alongside a young village boy named Garin who dreams of adventure.

I love a tired hero being dragged back into the fight one more time, and this book delivers that feeling perfectly.

Every Dark Shadow by Sarah Zimm

Every Dark Shadow

Ophelia doesn’t know who she really is, but three men have been secretly protecting her and hiding her memories for years.

When her secret starts slipping out, everyone is thrown into danger, including a tyrant king who wants her locked away.

There’s romance, magic, and so many twists.

If you love a heroine surrounded by protective men with their own secrets, this is such a treat.

Flameborne: Chosen by Aimee Lynn

Flameborne

My heart broke for Bren at the start of this one, but she becomes so strong.

After being betrayed by someone she loved, she bonds with a dragon and becomes the first woman ever allowed to train with an all-male group of dragon riders.

Her only ally is the commander training her in secret, and their bond turns into something so much deeper.

This is such a sweet, slow burn romance with a fierce, weak-to-strong heroine.

The Skald’s Black Verse by Jordan Loyal Short

The Skalds Black Verse by Jordan

This one is haunting in the best way.

Brohr is accused of murder and haunted by his baby brother’s angry ghost, all while an ancient war between powerful beings is coming to a head around him.

He has to choose between revenge and protecting his people.

There’s so much heart and darkness packed into this story, and I love how personal Brohr’s struggle feels against such a huge, world-ending backdrop.

Stormfire by Jasmine Young

Stormfire

Jaime has been called a cripple his whole life, but he ends up holding a power that could save his kingdom from endless storms.

As he learns to control it, he realizes the real enemy isn’t a king or a rival family, it’s something ancient and terrifying.

I love a hero who starts out overlooked and ends up being the one everyone needs.

So sweet for coming-of-age lovers.

Sage of Hope and Ruin by Riley Knight

Sage of Hope and Ruin

Aethra has no family and no home, just a mentor who betrays her the moment things go wrong.

To save herself, she’s forced into a job stealing something sacred, and when that fails, she’s given an even bigger task: joining a group on a deadly quest to save the world from decay.

I adore a clever con artist heroine who has to trust people she barely knows.

This one is full of heart and danger in equal measure.
