Your Sweet List of 23 Romantasy Books Coming Out in July 2025

From enchanting fantasy romance books to epic romantasy novels and swoony magical love stories, this list is perfect for dreamy readers.
July 2025 romantasy book releases to read

One of my blogging resolutions at the beginning of this year was to make sure I documented all the new book releases for every month nd I’ve been doing it so gently and consistently.

I’ve covered every month this year for romance, thrillers, non-fiction, fiction, and science fiction & fantasy.

But this is actually the very first time I’m creating a post primarily for romantic fantasy books and that’s because everything I’ve been reading in the past few weeks has been romantic fantasy.

I also realized that we get a lot of these books every month, so they honestly deserve a whole post of their own.

So here is a list of the best new romantasy books coming out in July 2025 and they are seriously amazing.

Some of these books are continuations of series I’ve read and loved, and I promise they’re just as incredible as the earlier ones.

I might be falling in love with all of them already.

Arcana Academy by Elise Kova – July 22nd

Arcana Academy scaled

Clara Graysword is not your usual magic student; she’s a thief who inks forbidden tarot cards to survive in Eclipse City’s dark underworld.

But when a job goes horribly wrong, she’s sentenced to prison for life until the handsome and very secretive headmaster of Arcana Academy, Prince Kaelis, steps in with an offer: fake an engagement with him and help steal a legendary card from the king.

Of course, things get messy fast, because Clara’s pretending to be both a student and his future bride while surrounded by powerful magic, danger, and secrets.

And what about this prince she’s supposed to hate? Maybe he’s not as cold as he seems.

I love when romance sneaks into high-stakes magical plots like this and it feels like all the delicious tension is going to explode.

In the Veins of the Drowning by Kalie Cassidy – July 15th

In the Veins of the Drowning

I’m so intrigued by this one because it feels dark, romantic, and dangerous all at once.

Imogen Nel is a siren, hiding from a cruel kingdom that hunts her kind.

She keeps away from the sea to dull her powers and stay hidden, but when a visiting king figures out what she really is, everything changes.

He doesn’t want to kill her; he wants her help to save both their worlds from an even bigger threat.

But to do that, they form a blood bond (how deliciously magical!) and flee across deadly waters full of the undead.

Their mission is huge, but what makes this even more exciting is the spark growing between them.

Is Imogen willing to let herself fall for someone she should never trust? And what if the only way to kill the monster they fear is to become one herself?

I love this kind of haunting, high-stakes fantasy with impossible choices and messy feelings.

Silvercloak by L.K. Steven – July 29th

Silvercloak by L.K

This new fantasy series sounds dark, dangerous, and completely addictive.

Saffron Killoran has one goal: revenge. The Bloodmoons destroyed her life and killed her parents, and she’s spent years training to take them down.

But to get close enough to destroy them, she has to go undercover in the seedy world of Silvercloak Academy – the training ground for elite detectives.

And when her secret is discovered, she’s not kicked out; instead, she’s sent deeper into danger to spy on the enemy gang itself.

Eventually, Saff isn’t just battling enemies – she’s battling her own heart, because she’s falling for the gang leader’s mysterious, tortured son.

But with magic fueled by pain and pleasure and a prophecy that hints Saff might be the one to kill him.

This is going to get very messy, very fast and I can already feel the tension building.

Terror at the Gates by Scarlett St. Clair – July 8th

Terror at the Gates

Scarlett St. Clair always writes the boldest, most intense fantasy tales, and this one sounds like such a wild ride.

It’s a retelling of Lilith’s story – the woman demonized by ancient myths – told in a fierce, feminist way.

Lilith has run from her past and is now hiding in Nineveh, the sinful district of Eden, where she steals magical things to survive.

But when she finds a strange, powerful dagger, everything spirals out of control.

Her only hope? Zahariev, the dangerous ruler of Nineveh, who has secrets of his own and a soft spot for Lilith.

Together, they have to find out who’s really pulling the strings in their world.

I just know this story will be packed with forbidden love, danger, rebellion, and that feeling of burning everything down to build something new.

And, honestly,I’m here for it!

Never the Roses by Jennifer K. Lambert – July 8th

Never the Roses

I love when romantasy stories feel like ancient myths whispered through magic and this debut totally gives that vibe.

Oneira, the legendary sorceress feared across the land, is finally done with war. She just wants peace, quiet, and maybe a little mischief.

So when she sneaks into the world’s greatest library and steals a book from her old rival, Stearanos, she accidentally starts the most charming, dangerous correspondence of her life.

Their notes are clever, wicked, and full of that delicious tension I love when two enemies maybe – just maybe – start to fall for each other.

But here’s the catch: Stearanos is bound to serve a vile king, and if war breaks out again, they’ll have to face each other on opposite sides.

Will their forbidden love burn them both, or could it spark something bright enough to change everything?

I can’t wait to see how this slow, intense romance plays out among magic, danger, and impossible choices.

A Forbidden Alchemy by Stacey McEwan – July 1st

A Forbidden Alchemy

In A Forbidden Alchemy, we meet Nina and Patrick, childhood friends swept away from their struggling mining towns to a glittering city where magic and ambition rule.

They dream of becoming powerful Artisans, but the truth they uncover shakes everything: Artisans aren’t born – they’re chosen.

Years later, they’re on opposite sides of a brewing rebellion, with secrets and heartbreak between them.

When fate pulls them together again, old feelings flare, loyalties are tested, and Nina faces an impossible choice.

With love, betrayal, and magic, this story feels like it’s going to break my heart in the best way.

The Irresistible Urge To Fall for Your Enemy by Brigitte Knightley – July 8th

The Irresistible Urge To Fall for

In this upcoming romantasy book, a healer and an assassin, who are enemies, are forced to work side by side.

Osric, a dark and dangerous assassin, needs healing. Aurienne, the brilliant scientist who despises everything he stands for, is the only one who can save him.

When he bribes her into helping him, she agrees, but only because she desperately needs the money to fund her work.

You can feel the tension as these two brilliant but stubborn souls clash (and secretly spark) while trying to cure a deadly plague.

I just know this slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romance will keep me grinning and swooning the whole way.

Wrath of the Dragons by Olivia Rose Darling – July 29th

Wrath of the Dragons

I’ve been waiting for this sequel and it sounds intense and steamy and full of dragons.

After the wild events of Fear the Flames, Cayden and Elowen must hold their shaky alliance together while kingdoms burn and betrayals brew.

He’s the fearsome Demon Commander, while she’s the long-lost princess with dragons at her side.

Forced into a marriage neither truly trusts, they’ve got to outwit kings, traitors, and their own tangled hearts. Will they rise as true rulers or fall to ruin?

I love a romantasy filled with danger and impossible choices and this one promises all that and more.

Soulgazer by Maggie Rapier – July 8th

Soulgazer

This one feels like such an epic adventure and I love a good pirate story with magic on the side.

Saoirse has spent her whole life terrified of her deadly magic until she loses control and everything changes.

Desperate to escape a cruel marriage, she bargains with Faolan, the legendary rogue pirate who promises to help her, but only if she uses her powers to find a long-lost mythical island.

But Saoirse knows pirates can’t be trusted, so she demands he marries her first!

Cursed magic, runaway brides, and forced pirate marriages? Yes please – I can’t wait to see where this goes.

Rose in Chains by Julie Soto – July 8th

Rose in Chains

Can’t lie, this July 2025 romantasy book already feels like it’s going to tug at my heart.

Briony was supposed to save the world, but the dark side won.

Now stripped of her magic and sold to the highest bidder, she finds herself trapped in the court of her old crush, Toven – a man from the very enemy family that destroyed everything she loved.

There’s betrayal, forbidden feelings, and the whisper of rebellion in the air.

And can we talk about this gorgeous deluxe edition? Sprayed edges, stenciled art – it’s going to look stunning on the shelf.

This romantasy is full of danger and longing and I need to know if Briony can rise again.

The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst – July 15th

The Enchanted Greenhouse

Terlu broke the law out of loneliness and was turned into wood for her crime until she suddenly wakes up on a mysterious island filled with magical greenhouses.

There’s a grumpy gardener (my favorite kind), honey cakes, talking plants, and an ancient mystery to solve.

Terlu wants to stay in this dreamy place, but the magic that keeps it alive is fading fast.

With the help of the gardener and a sweet, sentient rose, she sets out to save it all.

I love cozy fantasies with gentle magic and second chances and this feels like the perfect escape for a quiet afternoon.
