At the beginning of 2025, I told myself I wanted to take my blog more seriously, and honestly, I’ve put in the work.
By the time you’re reading this, you’ve probably already noticed the changes – so many things have improved, and the stats are honestly through the roof.
I’m always so happy and so privileged that people choose to read the articles on this blog, especially in this age where video content tends to come first.
It truly means a lot to me.
This year, I also decided to take video content more seriously but for another business venture that isn’t really in the literary space, so I haven’t talked much about it here (yet!).
I definitely will eventually.
What I’m really trying to say is that when I decided to take everything more seriously, I invested in so many tools and got tons of recommendations from friends and online.
I’ve tried a lot of them, and in this post, I’ll be sharing the ones you absolutely need if you’re planning to take your blog or any online business seriously.
I originally wrote this with book bloggers in mind, but honestly, it applies to anyone in the content creation space. Let me know what you think when you try them out!
Blue Yeti USB Microphone

One of the smartest investments I’ve made as a book blogger is a good microphone.
The Blue Yeti USB Microphone has been such a game-changer for me.
Whether I’m recording short podcast episodes, interviewing authors, or even just doing voiceovers for book review videos, the sound comes out crisp and clear.
I love that it’s super easy to set up, literally just plug it into my laptop and I’m ready to go.
If you’ve been thinking of adding audio or video to your blog, this is hands-down one of the best blogging tools to invest in 2026 for book bloggers.
Elgato Stream Deck (32-Key)

If you’re a book blogger who’s exploring video content, livestreams, or even organizing your daily workflow, the Elgato Stream Deck is like having a little control station right at your fingertips.
I use it to quickly switch between overlays during live reading sprints, pull up my notes, or launch my review template without fumbling around.
Each button can be customized, so it feels like it’s built just for your process.
I love how much time it saves me, and honestly, anything that keeps me from getting distracted while blogging is a win.
This is one of those best blogging tools to invest in 2026 for book bloggers who want to streamline tasks and look more professional online.
Ring Light with Tripod (10” LED)

Lighting can make or break a photo or video, and as book bloggers, we all know how important it is to capture our books in the best way possible.
The 10” LED Ring Light with Tripod is one tool I always reach for when I’m taking bookstagram shots or filming book hauls.
It gives such soft, flattering light that makes covers look vibrant and clear.
And, it’s adjustable, so I can switch between warm and cool tones depending on the vibe I want.
This is super portable, so you can set it up in minutes and pack it away when you’re done.
For book bloggers wanting to improve their photos and videos, this is easily one of the best blogging tools to invest in 2026.
Kindle Paperwhite (Signature Edition)

As much as I adore physical books, sometimes carrying them everywhere just isn’t practical. The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition solves that for me.
It’s slim, lightweight, and has so much storage that I can keep an entire library with me at all times.
The adjustable warm light is perfect for late-night reading, and the battery life is incredible – I can go weeks without charging.
I genuinely love how easy it is to quote passages for blog posts or highlight notes during research. It really supports my blogging workflow in ways I didn’t expect.
If you’re a book blogger looking for flexibility and convenience, this Kindle is truly one of the best blogging tools to invest in 2026, especially if you want to keep up with new releases on the go.
Rode Wireless GO II (Wireless Microphone System)

One thing I didn’t realize when I started book blogging is how much I’d end up doing on-the-go content – whether it’s recording at author events, chatting with fellow readers, or filming outdoors.
The Rode Wireless GO II Microphone System has been a lifesaver.
No messy cables, no worrying about being stuck in one place. The audio comes out super clean, even in busy environments.
I love how small and portable it is; I can just clip it on and start recording without a fuss.
For book bloggers who want to expand beyond just writing posts – maybe into video reviews, interviews, or event coverage – this is honestly one of the best blogging tools to invest in 2026 because it gives you that pro sound without the stress.
Seagate Portable 2TB External Hard Drive HDD – USB 3.0

One of the less flashy but super important tools I use is external storage.
The Seagate Portable 2TB External Hard Drive has been a lifesaver when my laptop starts filling up with photos, videos, and drafts.
With 2TB of space, I don’t stress about running out anytime soon.
As book bloggers, we collect so many high-quality photos, video files, and written drafts that it’s risky not to back them up.
This drive gives me peace of mind that my work won’t vanish if my laptop suddenly crashes.
If you’re serious about blogging long-term, this is easily one of the best blogging tools to invest in 2026 for book bloggers.
Toshiba Canvio Basics 2TB Portable External Hard Drive USB 3.0

Sometimes you just want something simple that works without fuss, and that’s what I love about the Toshiba Canvio Basics External Hard Drive.
It’s compact, portable, and offers a solid 2TB of space to store all your blogging material.
I keep mine as a second backup because I like having two different drives for extra safety.
This one is light enough to carry around if I’m working outside the house, and I don’t have to install extra software to use it.
As book bloggers, losing photos or drafts is heartbreaking, so having extra storage is just as important as having a good camera or mic.
For peace of mind and simple file management, this is one of the best blogging tools to invest in 2026 for book bloggers.
Ulanzi MA26 Smartphone Tripod (All Metal) with 360° Rotation

When I wanted something sturdier than a small flexible tripod, I got the Ulanzi MA26 Smartphone Tripod, and I don’t regret it one bit.
The all-metal design makes it feel really solid, so I don’t have to worry about my phone slipping while recording.
The 360° rotation is a blessing – I can switch from landscape to portrait without moving the whole tripod around, which is perfect for both Instagram shots and YouTube videos.
I love using it for overhead shots of book spreads or unboxings because it stays steady and holds the angle exactly where I want it.
For book bloggers who care about visuals and want pro-looking photos and videos without spending too much, this tripod is one of the best blogging tools to invest in 2026.
Logitech C922 Pro HD Webcam

I love this webcam because it gives clean, sharp video, especially when I want to do live author chats, unboxings, or behind-the-scenes content.
The autofocus and light correction are super helpful so I don’t have to fuss with settings.
If your blog includes video content or you want to engage with followers via live streams, this is one of the best blogging tools to invest in 2026 for book bloggers who want quality visuals without spending thousands.
Wacom Intuos Graphics Drawing Tablet

If you ever do illustrations, sketch cover mockups, or want to handwrite quotes and include them in your blog or Instagram, a pen tablet like the Wacom Intuos is amazing.
I love how natural the pen feels: like writing or drawing on paper, but digital.
It helps me make custom graphics without relying only on stock images.
For book bloggers aiming to make original visuals (book-cover art ideas, quote art, or reading graphics), this is one of the best blogging tools to invest in 2026 for book bloggers who want a more creative aesthetic.
Rode VideoMicro Compact On-Camera Microphone

For video reviews or B–roll where you’re filming with your DSLR or mirrorless camera, this little mic makes a big difference.
It’s compact, easy to mount, and gives clean sound that cuts down wind or ambient noise.
I like how much better my video content sounds when using this mic versus just the built-in microphone on my camera or phone.
If you want high-quality video reviews, reading reaction videos, or author interview clips, this is one of the best blogging tools to invest in 2026 for book bloggers who care about sound as much as visuals.
Adobe Lightroom Premium Subscription (or Lightroom Mobile + Desktop)
This isn’t a physical product but subscribing to Adobe Lightroom helps me edit photos for cover shots, flat lays, and social media so they look consistent and beautiful.
I love being able to tweak lighting, color tones, shadows to really hose book covers pop on Instagram or Pinterest.
For book bloggers who share a lot of visuals, having a photo editor tool is one of the best blogging tools to invest in 2026 for book bloggers who want cohesive branding and polished imagery.
Zttopo Wireless Camera Remote Shutter (2-Pack)

I really dig this 2-pack of Zttopo Wireless Camera Remote Shutters because sometimes I need to take photos of books from a distance (flat lays, shelves, staged shots) without the shake.
Having two means I can leave one in my bag, one at home.
It works up to ~30 feet, pairs easily with both iOS and Android.
If you want to level up your visuals, this is one of the best blogging tools to invest in 2026 for book bloggers who want sharp photos and steady shots without constant phone fumbling.
Eye-Caring / Task Desk Lamp (LED, Flexible, USB Powered)

Lighting is something I underestimated at first, but a good LED desk lamp (one of these eye-caring, flexible, USB powered ones) has made all the difference for my late-night content work.
I love how I can bend it to spotlight my keyboard when writing, or angle it over a shelf when photographing books without casting ugly shadows or glare.
The eye-caring feature means less strain, which matters when you edit photos, proofreads, or read long hours.
For book bloggers who share a lot of visual content – flat lays, cover reveals, behind-scenes – this lamp is one of the best blogging tools to invest in 2026 for book bloggers who want to protect their eyes and make their visuals pop.
