This might not be the most popular approach, and some might even say I’m rude, but when it comes to gift-giving, I like to be clear about what I want.

I’m not a fan of surprises.

So, if someone has mentioned they’ll be getting me something in the future, I usually give them a list of options to choose from.

It’s easy for someone to spend their money and still not get something you’d love.

At the end of the day, when it comes to gifts, I think it’s best to give people what they’ll truly enjoy. If you’re not sure, try to find out directly.

As a general rule (though don’t quote me on this), bookworms love anything book-related.

I have so many bookish items that I just love to look at, and if you step into my space, you’ll immediately know it’s a place where books are everything.

And I’m not just talking about actual books – though that’s usually everyone’s go-to when thinking of gifts for book lovers.

But honestly, I prefer to buy my own books.

If you want to gift a book, though, a gift card is a great option, because, they can then choose whatever book they want.

But if you have a book lover in your life and don’t know exactly what they want, these Easter egg gift ideas might be the perfect starting point.

I’ve listed some things I’d be so excited to find in my basket, and I think any book lover would appreciate them too.

Just remember: before spending money on a gift, double-check that the person will enjoy the core of what you’re giving.

1. A cozy paperback with a dreamy cover – I always feel like spring reading should be gentle and romantic.

2. A pastel-themed bookmark because I somehow always lose mine and then find it months later inside another book.

3. A little jar of lemon or lavender tea. It’s such a calming companion while flipping pages on a breezy afternoon.

4. Bookish socks with cute quotes or illustrations (I saw a pair once that said “Shhh…I’m reading” and almost cried from joy).

5. A tiny notebook for jotting down favorite quotes or random thoughts. I’ve started doing this and it’s made reading feel so much more personal.

6. A mini candle in a scent like Old Books or Spring Library – yes, those exist and yes, they are pure magic.

7. A small bag of pastel-colored M&Ms or chocolate eggs for snacky reads (and yes, I always drop at least one between the pages).

8. A pocket-sized poetry book because spring and poetry go hand-in-hand – like crocuses and sunlight.

9. A handmade coupon for an uninterrupted hour of reading time (it’s the kind of gift I’d cry over if someone gave it to me).

10. A sticker pack with bookish designs. I put them on my Kindle case, my laptop, and once, accidentally, on my cat.

11. A cute mug with something like Book Bunny or Hop into a Good Book – cheesy but adorable and perfect for tea.

12. A little bottle of floral-scented hand lotion, because I’m always rubbing my hands together while reading and it’s nice when they smell like roses.

13. A set of gel pens for underlining favorite lines or journaling after a good cry over a fictional character.

14. A cute tote bag for carrying spring reads to the park (I once used a grocery bag and vowed never again). I wrote a post all about my favorite tote bags.

15. A personalized bookplate set so they can mark their books in the fanciest way. I still haven’t used mine because they feel too special.

16. A gift card to a local indie bookstore, because nothing feels more exciting than choosing your next read while sipping something iced.

17. A decorative egg filled with tiny book charms or jewelry – so random, but so fun to open!

18. A mini print of a quote from a favorite author to hang by your bookshelf (I have a Jane Austen one that just makes me smile).

19. A reading light shaped like a bunny or flower, because why not make reading in bed even cuter?

20. A tiny plant or succulent with a little tag that says Books help me grow too – it’s cheesy, yes, but I’d absolutely love it in my bucket.

21. A blind date with a book wrapped in pretty paper. I once did this and ended up falling in love with a story I’d never have picked myself.

22. A pastel highlighter set for softly marking lines that hit a little too hard (I’m looking at you, emotional plot twists).

23. A cute reading journal with spring designs where they can rate books, scribble thoughts, or rant about endings that wrecked them.

24. A magnetic bookmark shaped like a bunny or a stack of books. I never knew how useful these were until one saved me from losing my spot in a 500-page novel.

25. A book-themed enamel pin to stick on a jacket, backpack, or tote. I have one that says Just one more chapter and it’s basically my life motto.

26. A little egg filled with handwritten reading prompts or bookish dares – stuff like read a book with flowers on the cover or finish a chapter outside.

27. A pastel-colored Kindle or e-reader case (if they’re digital readers), because I like my gadgets dressed up for the season too.

28. A sweet quote card to tuck into a book as a surprise. I used to find old notes in books at the library and it always felt like a hug.

29. A bookish lip balm in a flavor like chamomile tea or bookshop vanilla – yes, I am that extra, and yes, it’s delightful.

30. A literary-themed coloring book to wind down with after a long reading binge (or when a book hangover hits hard).

21. A mini bookstand for propping up reads during lunch or tea breaks – my wrists have never been more thankful.

32. A book-scented room spray – imagine your room smelling like leather-bound pages and early spring mornings.

33. A bunny-shaped paper clip or bookmark just for the Easter vibe (I’m not even ashamed of how many cute paper clips I hoard).

34. A bookish phone grip or PopSocket so they can hold their phone one-handed while reading web novels in bed.

35. A handmade charm bracelet with tiny books, teacups, or typewriters – seriously, these things are the cutest.

36. A set of chapter tabs in soft spring colors for those who love annotating like it’s an Olympic sport.

37. A whimsical bookish print or art card to brighten up a reading nook (I’ve got one with stacked books and wildflowers and it’s my favorite thing ever).

38. A mini spray bottle of linen mist so their reading blanket smells like fresh flowers and clean air.

39. A pair of blue-light reading glasses in a fun Easter color – practical and cute (mine are lilac and I wear them way too proudly).

40. A little pouch to hold all their annotating tools – pens, tabs, sticky notes – I call mine my bookish survival kit.

41. A cute egg timer so they can squeeze in focused reading sprints. I use mine when I promise myself just 20 more minutes (which always turns into an hour).

42. A tiny puzzle or brain teaser shaped like a book for when they want a quick break but aren’t ready to fully leave their bookish mood.

43. A DIY mini book kit where they can create a tiny replica of their favorite classic. I tried one once and it was both chaotic and weirdly therapeutic.

44. A book-themed cookie cutter (like an open book or teacup!) for baking little treats to nibble while reading.

45. A page holder ring that keeps the book open with one hand. Honestly, it feels oddly regal, like I’m royalty reading in the garden.

46. A spring-themed washi tape set for decorating book pages, journals, or just hoarding like I do.

47. A tiny reading-themed snow globe or Easter globe. It’s adorable and makes any shelf feel extra magical.

48. A pastel book sleeve to protect their current read. Mine saved my book from a juice box incident once and I’ll never stop being grateful.

49. A quirky book-shaped eraser or pencil sharpener that looks way too cute to actually use (but I do anyway).

50. A bookmark with a built-in ruler for drawing neat underlines, because messy notes in my precious books make me twitch.

51. A gentle facial mist or refreshing spray for mid-reading pampering (especially when it’s warm out and you’re sun-reading).

52. A limited edition pin from a favorite author or book box. I once got one that said Fictional men > real men and it still cracks me up.

53. A bookish keychain that jingles every time they reach for their keys – mine says Books are my escape plan.

54. A reading tracker card or habit chart. This one is super satisfying for us list-lovers who like to see our reading streaks in pastel ink.

55. A bunny-shaped hand warmer or hot pack for cozy spring mornings with a mystery novel (yes, I’ve used one in April and no, I don’t regret it).

56. A pretty glass jar filled with folded book recs from friends (or me!) – like a fortune jar but better.

57. A mini audiobook subscription trial card tucked in a plastic egg. I didn’t think I’d like audiobooks till I tried one and now I’m hooked. Here are the ones you absolutely need to listen to in 2025.

58. A pastel scrunchie or headband for messy reading buns. It’s the unspoken bookworm uniform, really.

59. A little framed art piece of their favorite book cover – bonus points if it’s slightly vintage or floral and looks like spring in a frame.

I do hope I’ve inspired you a bit if you’ve been searching for Easter egg ideas for the book lover in your life.

Even if you don’t take one of my suggestions, I think something along these lines would make for a really thoughtful gift.
