December makes me want a blanket, a mug, and a love story that makes me grin.

I read romance all year, and you probably know that already.

Once the holidays start, though, I hunt for one thing in particular, which is Christmas rom com books.

A rom-com feels different from a regular romance to me, because the jokes sit right next to the swoon.

I picked the ten funny Christmas romance books below because they made me smile the most.

Grab your favorite snack and see which one is going on your list.

Christmas Baggage by Deborah M. Hathaway

Christmas Baggage

Claire is fed up with miserable Christmases and boyfriends who let her down.

She runs off to London to start over.

Her friend’s cousin Liam ends up stuck with her, and he is annoying and very good-looking.

Their constant bickering turns into attraction they can’t hide.

It reminded me of a Pride and Prejudice romance set at Christmas, and I loved every minute.

If you want a sweet, funny story set in Europe with grumpy-meets-sassy banter, this is one of the cozy Christmas rom com books I’d grab first.

Kiss the Girl by Melanie Jacobson

Grace never planned to settle in her hometown.

Life pulls her back anyway, and she ends up running her dad’s hardware store.

Noah, the high school coach, wants her to enjoy Christmas again.

He also hopes she’ll open her heart to love.

The two of them pretend to date for the town’s holiday festival, and the pretending slowly stops feeling fake.

I’d call it a gentle slow-burn read for a quiet night, and it’s one of my favorite fake dating Christmas romance books.

Holiday Romance by Catherine Walsh

Holiday Romance

Molly and Andrew have been friends for years.

Every Christmas they share the same flight from Chicago to Dublin.

This year a snowstorm strands them, and everything between them changes.

I loved the funny, chaotic moments and the soft, tender ones that come after.

Their story felt like a modern Christmas movie to me, with plenty of hope in it.

You’ll want this one if you’re into friends to lovers Christmas romance books with a travel twist.

Holly comes home for Christmas wanting calm days with her family.

Instead she bumps into Adam, her brother’s old best friend.

He’s now her neighbor and a grumpy billionaire who can’t stand the holiday.

Ryan used to be an accountant, and he’s very grumpy about life.

He lands in a small town that overflows with Christmas cheer.

Sammy lives there, and she happens to be his childhood crush.

Their story has farm mayhem, holiday festivals, and a sheep named Stan.

I laughed out loud more than once while the romance crept along at a slow burn.

Grumpy sunshine Christmas books are a favorite of mine, and this is the one I’d hand you first.

How the Grump Saved Christmas by Claire Kingsley

Isabelle’s family farm is in danger, and so is its Christmas Village.

The person trying to buy it is Elias, her grumpy ex.

He cares only about business, and she is bursting with holiday spirit.

I loved how funny their clashes are, and how the story also touches on healing.

Their second chance had me smiling from the first page to the last.

This is a lovely pick for anyone who wants a second-chance Christmas romance with a big heart.

The Boss Who Stole Christmas by Jana Aston

The Boss Who Stole Christmas

Holly has one holiday wish, and it’s a new boss.

Nick Saint-Croix is her current boss, and he’s gorgeous but maddening.

The office holiday season fills up with mistletoe moments and flirty tension.

I picked this up when I wanted something light and silly, and it delivered.

It never takes itself seriously, yet it still gives you a romantic glow.

Resting Grinch Face by Alina Jacobs

Resting Grinch Face

Noelle can’t stand Christmas, and she can’t stand her small town either.

She dislikes Oliver Frost most of all, the guy who wrecked her college life.

She has to see him again, so she plans some festive revenge.

Snow fights, small-town craziness, and a ton of funny mishaps get in her way.

This book is wild in the best way, and I adored the chaos.

Abbie wants payback on her terrible ex.

Her plan is to date his boss and walk into the firm’s Christmas party on his arm.

Then she starts falling for Damien, a lawyer who seems grumpy but has a soft heart.

I enjoyed the red dresses, the sparkly party scenes, and the warmth hiding under the jokes.

It’s a sassy, spicy, sweet read about a woman finding her confidence and love again.

This is one of my picks when someone asks for funny Christmas romance books with a little bite.

Snowed In by Catherine Walsh

Snowed In

Megan and Christian are complete strangers.

They agree to fake date through the holidays so they can survive awkward family gatherings.

A snowstorm traps them together, and the act begins to feel real.

I love the witty banter in this one, and the heartfelt moments land just right.

It felt like a rom-com movie playing out on the page.

Snowed in Christmas romance is my weakness, especially when a slow-burn fake relationship comes with it.
