I love a good science fiction book, and when it’s coupled with a thrilling plot, you already have my heart.

In this post, I’ve listed some absolutely out-of-this-world and amazing science fiction thriller books you need to read.

I’ve read every single book in this post, and I’ll tell you, they are so good.

They’re interesting from start to finish, and you’ll be hooked from the very first page without skipping a beat.

If science fiction is your jam and you love a good thriller, definitely check out these books.

Recursion by Blake Crouch

Recursion

This book plays with memory and time in a way that completely pulled me in.

A cop and a scientist team up to stop a strange illness called False Memory Syndrome.

People are remembering lives they never lived, and it’s changing reality itself.

As time twists and turns, the story becomes a mix of action, love, and mind-bending science.

I loved how it made me think about how precious our memories are and what happens if we lose them or live too many.

It’s fast, emotional, and seriously hard to put down.

Jack Four by Neal Asher

Jack Four

Jack is a clone, made to be used and thrown away.

But he’s not like the others – he’s smarter, stronger, and full of surprises.

When aliens want to experiment on him, he escapes and starts a wild journey across space.

There are dangerous creatures, twisted science, and non-stop action. I was rooting for Jack the whole time.

It’s a dark story, but there’s hope too – about fighting back, surviving, and proving you’re more than what others expect.

This one really had that edge-of-your-seat vibe.

What’s Left of Me by Kat Zhang

Whats Left Of Me

Eva lives inside Addie’s body, a second soul who never faded away like she was supposed to.

I felt so much for Eva – she just wants to live, laugh, and be seen.

When they learn there’s a way for Eva to move again, it’s risky but too tempting to ignore.

This story is gentle and haunting, with a real focus on identity and freedom.

It made me think about how hard it is to feel invisible and how brave it is to fight for yourself, even when the world says you shouldn’t exist.

Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie

Ancillary Justice

Breq used to be a spaceship – yes, a whole ship. Now she’s just one body, filled with anger and loss.

She’s on a mission for revenge, but the story is about more than that.

It’s about loyalty, justice, and what makes us who we are.

The world here is big and strange, and I had to pause sometimes to take it in but I was fascinated by Breq’s quiet strength.

If you like thoughtful sci-fi with deep ideas and slow-burn emotions, this one sticks with you.

The Gun Machine by Warren Ellis

Gun Machine

Detective John Tallow stumbles upon a creepy apartment filled with hundreds of guns – each one used in an unsolved murder.

As he digs deeper, he finds there’s a pattern and a terrifying serial killer who’s been at it for years.

The mix of police work, mystery, and eerie atmosphere made it feel like a dark puzzle.

I kept thinking, how do you even begin to solve something this huge?

It’s intense, smart, and definitely a thriller that keeps you flipping pages quickly.

Wanderers by Chuck Wendig

Wanderers

People are sleepwalking across America, and no one knows why.

Shana follows her sister, one of the walkers, as a strange, heartbreaking journey begins.

Others join the walk, and it becomes clear this isn’t just an illness – it’s something bigger.

The world around them starts falling apart, and I couldn’t stop reading to find out what was coming.

This story is emotional and scary, but also about love, hope, and holding on to each other when things feel impossible.

It’s one of those books that really makes you think about people and power.

The World Gives Way by Marissa Levien

The World Gives Way

Myrra was born into a life she didn’t choose, working for rich families in a world on a spaceship heading to a new home.

Then, suddenly, her employers are dead, and she’s on the run with their little daughter and a terrible secret.

This book is quiet but powerful, and I really liked Myrra’s strength even when things felt hopeless.

It’s a story about freedom, truth, and finding something to live for – even when everything is literally falling apart.

It’s beautiful and bittersweet in the best way.

Constance by Matthew FitzSimmons

Constance by Matthew FitzSimmons

Constance wakes up one day and finds out she’s not the original her – she’s a clone, and the real Con is dead.

But how did she die? And who wanted her gone? This story is sharp and mysterious, with twists that made me gasp.

As Con tries to piece things together, she learns that her life, and her identity, may not be what she thought.

I loved how it made me wonder what makes you truly you.

It’s part sci-fi, part detective story, and all gripping.

The Gone World by Tom Sweterlitsch

The Gone World

This one is a wild ride.

Shannon is an agent who travels through time to solve crimes, and her latest case – a missing girl and a murdered family – may be tied to the end of humanity itself.

Sounds huge, right? It is.

The story jumps across different timelines, and I got a bit dizzy at times, but I couldn’t stop.

It’s dark, smart, and haunting.

Shannon is tough but vulnerable, and I liked following her through this very twisty and emotional case.

If you love time travel mixed with mystery, this is it.

Devolution by Max Brooks

Devolution

This book gave me chills!

It’s written like a found journal from a woman named Kate who survived a horrifying attack in an isolated community.

But, it seems attackers might be Bigfoot. Sounds wild, but it’s told so realistically I kept wondering, what if this really happened?

Kate’s voice is strong, and I admired how she changed from scared to strong.

It’s part horror, part survival, and part mystery – and it really sticks with you.

If you enjoy stories that feel real but also deeply unsettling, this one’s a must.
