As I always say, I don’t believe in yucking anyone’s yum – as long as the characters involved are whole adults and there isn’t any criminal element to the fantasy.
To be honest, this is a trope I have always, always enjoyed.
In this post, I’m not only writing about the best teacher-student romance books, but I also wanted to include books where either character is a teacher.
This might not mean anything to everyone, but I think teachers take on such important roles in society, and watching them fall in love is always so sweet.
Plus, it makes for some very spicy scenes.
So, if this is something you’re even a little interested in, you’re probably going to enjoy this post a lot.
Office Hours by Katrina Jackson

Office Hours is everything I love about smart, steamy romances.
Poor Deja is exhausted trying to keep up with her crazy teaching schedule, boring meetings, and never-ending stress.
Honestly, she’s so relatable with her struggles that I just wanted to give her a hug.
The only bright spot? Dreamy Dr. Alejandro Mendoza. Sigh.
When their slow-burn chemistry finally explodes in her office, my heart did a happy dance.
I loved watching Deja learn to let love into her life, even when it felt scary.
This book made me swoon, laugh, and root so hard for them. It’s such a cozy academic love story.
Grumpy Jake by Melissa Blue

This one gave me all the grumpy/sunshine feels.
Bailey, a sweet kindergarten teacher, is stuck with Jake – the single dad with a bad boy reputation.
She thinks he’s trouble, and to be honest, at first I agreed with her.
But being trapped together (hello, elevator scene!) shows that Jake is so much more than his rumors.
He’s funny, loving, and totally swoon-worthy.
Watching Bailey slowly fall for him (despite her stubborn heart) made me smile so much.
Plus, his adorable son Jack totally stole my heart.
Grumpy Jake made me believe that love can sneak up on you when you least expect it.
The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood

Olive, a super stressed-out Ph.D. student, starts fake-dating Adam, the grumpy professor with a secret soft side, after lying about their relationship.
Their banter made me giggle, and their slow-burn chemistry had me grinning like crazy.
I loved that even though Olive didn’t believe in love, she accidentally found it in the most unexpected way.
Adam’s little acts of kindness absolutely melted my heart.
The Love Hypothesis is the perfect story when you want to believe that love can be messy, hilarious, and completely magical.
Plus, the lab settings were so cute.
Forever Sunshine by Jennifer Williams

This story made my heart ache in the best way.
Emily’s whole life falls apart, and she bravely decides to start over in a brand new town. I admired her so much.
Then she accidentally meets Nathan, the grumpy (and gorgeous) single dad who wants nothing to do with her at first.
But the way Emily connects with his sweet son, Jack, totally melted Nathan’s walls and my heart, too.
Their chemistry was electric, and I loved watching Nathan fight his own fears to love again.
Forever Sunshine is a beautiful story about second chances, healing, and finally finding where you belong.
Rock Bottom Girl by Lucy Score

If you’ve ever felt like a total mess, Rock Bottom Girl will make you feel so seen and so loved.
Marley comes home feeling like a failure, and the last thing she expects is to fake-date sexy track coach Jake Weston.
Their pretend relationship is hilarious, sweet, and steamy, and Jake is the kind of guy who makes you believe in real love again.
I loved how Marley slowly built her confidence back with Jake’s steady support.
Plus, the small-town gossip, awkward soccer practices, and crazy hijinks made me laugh out loud so many times.
This book is pure joy.
Roll Bounce Love by Kay Shanee

Aubrielle is so brave for moving to a new city after having her heart broken. I admired her so much for trying again.
Rashaad, the sexy skating rink owner and single dad, completely swept me off my feet.
Their connection was instant but real, and I loved how both of them were strong, complicated, and scared but still willing to hope for more.
Roll Bounce Love shows that healing isn’t easy, but it’s worth it when you find someone who sees all of you and stays. So romantic.
Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood

Elsie is such a lovable, messy character.
She’s juggling a million things, faking being the perfect girlfriend for extra cash, and trying so hard to make her dreams come true. My heart ached for her.
Then she meets Jack, the grumpy (and secretly kind) physicist who challenges her in the best way.
Their chemistry is off the charts, and their emotional journey felt so real.
Love, Theoretically reminded me that being loved for who you really are is the sweetest thing ever.
Plus, Ali Hazelwood writes the kind of nerdy, swoony heroes I just can’t get enough of.
Craft by Adriana Locke

If you love slow-burn romances packed with banter, Craft is your book.
Mariah, the sweet and sassy librarian, and Lance, the teasing history teacher, are pure magic together.
They annoy each other so much it’s hilarious, but you can feel the love growing underneath all the teasing.
I adored watching them go from playful enemies to real partners, and the tension between them was chef’s kiss.
Plus, there’s something extra adorable about two teachers falling for each other over cupcakes and sarcastic jokes.
Craft made me giggle, swoon, and believe that sometimes love grows where you least expect it.
His Perfect Partner by Priscilla Oliveras

Tomas is a hardworking dad who’s completely devoted to his daughter, and Yaz is the vibrant dance teacher with dreams too big for her small world.
Watching them fight their growing feelings – and then completely fall for each other – gave me so much joy.
Their connection was tender, passionate, and so real.
I loved that this book wasn’t just about romance, but also about healing old wounds and believing you deserve happiness.
His Perfect Partner is heartwarming, emotional, and proof that sometimes love shows up exactly when you’re not looking.
Stripped by Zoey Castile

This book made me smile, blush, and cheer out loud.
Robyn, the sweet schoolteacher, has one disastrous day that ends up leading her to Zac – a sexy, charming stripper with a heart of gold.
Their meet-cute is hilarious (sequin thongs and all!), and the way Zac slowly wins over Robyn’s guarded heart is just swoon-worthy.
I loved that Stripped shows how love doesn’t always come in the neat little package you expect, but it can be even better.
This story is sexy, sweet, and full of heart, and it left me feeling so happy and hopeful by the end.
