Fall is simply the most perfect season to kick back and relax. And what better way to do this than with a book?

Although if you’re like me, you probably don’t even need a good reason to read  –  you just read for the fun of it anyway.

In keeping with the cozy atmosphere of fall, I always like to read books that wrap me up in comfort.

For this very purpose, I’ve put together a list of some of my personal favorite cozy books that are perfect for the season.

Whenever it’s fall, I always look for very atmospheric and super warm stories, and that’s exactly what these books are.

So if you’re thinking about adding some new titles to your reading list for the fall, you should definitely check out any of these amazing options.

The Pumpkin Spice Café by Laurie Gilmore

The Pumpkin Spice Cafe

Imagine leaving your dull desk job behind to run a cute café full of pumpkin spice lattes  –  I’d do it in a heartbeat.

That’s what Jeanie does when her aunt gifts her the Pumpkin Spice Café in the warm, small town of Dream Harbor.

She brings a sunshine vibe to town, but Logan, a handsome and grumpy farmer, resists her charms at first.

Still, her cheerful heart and delicious drinks might break through his walls.

I love how this book feels like a hug on a chilly day, and it combines a cozy fall setting with found family and sweet, spicy romance.

If you love the grumpy x sunshine trope with pumpkin-scented pages, this will make you smile and wish you were sipping lattes, too.

Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood

Belle is such a relatable character  –  she’s tired, overworked, and just trying to keep her bookstore safe. And she’s a witch in hiding.

When she gets summoned to prove her worth to her coven on her 30th birthday, Belle must juggle magic, a toxic boss, and a spooky threat lurking around.

Honestly, I felt like hugging her the whole time.

It’s so cozy and autumnal with found family, a sweet slow-burn romance, and a message about loving yourself, even when you feel burnt out.

Watching Belle rediscover her magic warmed my heart, and the October vibes are perfect for curling up with this story.

If you adore witches, a sprinkle of danger, and second chances, this is totally your fall read.

Keeper of Enchanted Rooms by Charlie N. Holmberg

Keeper of Enchanted Rooms

I absolutely adored how spooky yet heartwarming this story felt.

Merritt inherits a strange old house in 1846 Rhode Island, but the house doesn’t want him to leave. Ever.

Hulda, a magical expert with a wonderfully practical heart, moves in to help tame Whimbrel House’s restless magic.

I loved how these two bonded while unraveling the house’s secrets.

It’s cozy and a bit eerie, with its creaky walls and sentient rooms, but always hopeful.

There’s friendship, slow-burn romance, and a sense of found family that just made me smile.

If you’re craving a fall story with a dash of historical magic, a stubborn house, and two sweet people learning to trust, this will wrap you up like a warm blanket.

Somewhere Beyond the Sea by T.J. Klune

Somewhere Beyond the Sea

Going back to Marsyas Island feels like visiting family, right?

Arthur is doing his best to give the magical kids a loving home, and Linus is still by his side, helping him every step of the way.

But Arthur’s past comes calling, and there’s a new child with a dark secret that could break their fragile peace.

I loved how this story showed that family is built with love, not blood, and that fighting for a future worth having is always worth it.

Arthur’s courage is inspiring, and the cozy island setting with its quirky, magical kids gave me all the warm fall feels.

This book is a perfect hug if you want a comforting, hopeful story about found family and bravery,

The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst

The Spellshop

I completely fell for this book’s sweet cottagecore magic.

Kiela, a shy librarian, flees a burning library with her talking spider plant and all the spellbooks she can carry.

Back on her childhood island, she tries to settle in quietly, but a handsome, nosy neighbor keeps popping up to help.

I adored how jam-making and secret spells blended into a warm, cozy tale of new beginnings and unexpected friendships.

The idea of a spellshop hidden behind berries and cinnamon rolls makes me want to visit right now.

If you’re dreaming of a romantic, gentle story with magic, healing, and a dash of rebellion, this one will melt your heart and fill your fall days with sweetness.

The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore by Laurie Gilmore

The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore

Hazel works at the Cinnamon Bun Bookstore, where fresh pastries mix with bookish magic  –  literally.

Secret codes keep turning up hidden between the pages, and Hazel needs help solving the puzzle.

Enter Noah, a friendly fisherman who’s been crushing on her for ages.

I loved how their scavenger hunt took them around the cozy town of Dream Harbor, with cinnamon-scented romance blooming along the way.

Their chemistry was adorable, and the small-town vibe made me wish I could move there.

If you love treasure hunts, bookish mysteries, and sweet spice with your happily-ever-after, this cozy autumn story is the perfect warm treat for your heart.

Perfectly Wicked by Lindsay Wicked

Perfectly Wicked

Holly and her sisters run the best apple cider orchard in Maine, thanks to a magical secret ingredient.

But to save the farm, they let a ghost-hunting TV crew in  –  yikes.

Holly is scared their secrets will come out, especially with charming host Connor poking around.

I adored their playful, sparky romance and the way Holly’s big family tried to protect her.

It felt cozy, witchy, and hopeful, with a sweet message that being different is okay.

Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell

Pumpkinheads

This graphic novel is just the perfect fall read and I’ve read it multiple times.

Deja and Josiah have been pumpkin patch besties every autumn through high school.

But this year is their last, and Deja wants to make it unforgettable.

I adored their sweet friendship as they dashed through hayrides and pumpkin pie stands, chasing a cute crush and savoring every last fall night together.

The artwork captures autumn perfectly  –  warm, golden, and so comforting.

I loved the message about endings being new beginnings, and how bravery sometimes means saying what’s in your heart.

If you want a cozy, gentle, and fun fall read with lots of laughter and sweetness, Pumpkinheads will remind you how beautiful friendship can be.

The Unfortunate Side Effects of Heartbreak and Magic by Breanne Randall

The Unfortunate Side Effects of Heartbreak and scaled

Sadie knows that heartbreak is part of being a witch, but when her grandma grows sick, and her first love returns to town, her world starts falling apart.

She tries to keep her magic, her family, and her heart together through all the pain.

It’s warm, witchy, and so full of love, with family secrets, heartbreak, and healing woven through every page.

I loved the cozy sense of community and the way Sadie finds the courage to choose love, even if it hurts.

So, if you adore Practical Magic-style stories and a fall setting with a comforting sense of belonging, this book will wrap around you like a cozy sweater.

The Café Between Pumpkin and Pie by Marina Adair

The Cafe Between Pumpkin and Pie

In Moonbright, the Corner Café is the heart of town, where folks gather during the Halloween parade for sweet whoopie pies and the magic of local legends.

I loved how three women look into a romantic legend about seeing your true love’s reflection on Halloween night  –  it’s the perfect setup for swoony, cozy romance.

The autumn atmosphere was dreamy, and the café felt so inviting, I wished I could stop by for a cup of cider and a ghost story.

If you’re in the mood for sweet, seasonal magic and true love under the fall leaves, this book will make you feel so warm inside.
