Check out these enchanting haunted house romance books packed with all the love and feels – you’re going to love them!
Haunted house romance books

Honestly, I don’t think there’s anything that makes me happier than a spooky romance book.

I’m talking about haunted houses, ghosts, or anything that really changes the tension.

In this post, I’ve compiled the very best haunted house romance books I think everyone needs to read.

What happens in these books is that our characters, for some reason, have to go to a haunted house and end up falling in love along the way – whether with a ghost or with another human being.

Either way, all of these books are so amazing and so precious, and you’re going to totally enjoy them.

Darkhouse by Karina Halle

Darkhouse

I absolutely adore haunted house romances that are just a little unhinged.

Darkhouse is one of those books that pulls you in from the first creepy moment.

Perry isn’t your usual heroine – she’s messy, she’s figuring things out, and she can see ghosts.

When she meets Dex, this complicated, chaotic guy who’s somehow both maddening and magnetic, sparks fly in a way that feels both spooky and real.

The haunted lighthouse setting makes everything feel extra chilly (and thrilling!).

This story is such a wild, emotional rollercoaster, and even though it’s scary, the connection between Perry and Dex feels so alive.

I love haunted house romances like this because they make you feel a little scared but so full of hope too.

The Widow of Rose House by Diana Biller

The Widow of Rose House

There’s something about a haunted, broken-down mansion and two people slowly falling in love that just melts my heart.

The Widow of Rose House is full of that magic.

Alva is strong but a little bruised by life, and watching her try to rebuild not just a house, but also her life, made me feel so soft inside.

And Sam? Sam is basically a cinnamon roll disguised as a mad scientist.

Their banter is adorable, the ghosts are just spooky enough to keep you on your toes, and the romance feels so earned and beautiful.

I adore haunted house stories where love feels like a second chance at life itself, and this one made me so happy.

Happily Haunted Afters by Brittany Kelley

Happily Haunted Afters

I’m such a sucker for second-chance romances, especially when they come wrapped in a slightly creepy, totally cozy haunted hotel setting.

Emma and Jack’s story in Happily Haunted Afters gave me all the fuzzy feelings.

Emma is trying to chase her dream and fix her life, and Jack is the friend she never quite got over.

There’s just enough spookiness (creepy dolls and mysterious noises) to keep things exciting without ever feeling too dark.

I loved how the haunted hotel mirrors their past mistakes and hopes for the future.

These kinds of books remind me why haunted house romances are my comfort reads – they’re about fixing broken things, whether it’s a building or your own heart.

If I Stopped Haunting You by Colby Wilkens

If I Stopped Haunting You

If I Stopped Haunting You made me giggle, gasp, and swoon.

Pen and Neil have that crackling chemistry where you just know they’re meant to be – even though they drive each other crazy.

Watching them go from fighting to falling (with a little ghostly help) was so much fun.

The haunted castle setting is atmospheric without being too scary, and the romance felt like one of those warm lights in a dark, spooky hallway.

I love when haunted places bring two stubborn people together, and this one absolutely delivered.

Rules for Ghosting by Shelly Jay Shore

Rules for Ghosting

This book felt like a warm hug with a few delightful chills mixed in.

Ezra is such a wonderful character, and I loved how real and messy his life felt.

Ghosts aren’t just creepy here – they’re sad, funny, loving, and even a little bossy.

And Jonathan, sweet and gentle, felt like someone who truly sees Ezra in a way no one else does.

Rules for Ghosting shows that sometimes the scariest things aren’t ghosts – they’re changes, heartbreak, and second chances.

Haunted house romances like this remind me why I adore the genre: they show that love can grow even in the strangest, most unexpected places.

Better Homes and Hauntings by Molly Harper

Better Homes and Hauntings by

I just can’t resist a story where fixing up a haunted house turns into fixing up two people’s broken hearts.

Better Homes and Hauntings has such a fun, lighthearted vibe – with just enough ghostly activity to keep things interesting.

Nina and Deacon are both a little wary, a little wounded, but together they find something that feels like a real home.

I love how Molly Harper balances laughs, sweet moments, and spooky shenanigans.

Reading this book made me want to curl up with a cozy blanket and believe that even in haunted, crumbling mansions, love can bloom and be even stronger than fear.

Looking for Love in All the Haunted Places by Claire Kann

Looking for Love in All the Haunted Places

This one completely stole my heart.

Lucky Hart is such a relatable heroine – a little bit lost, a little bit stubborn, and full of heart.

I love stories where haunted places aren’t just spooky but full of hidden dreams, and that’s exactly what Hennessee House is. .

Watching Lucky find her place (and maybe even love) while managing a real haunted house felt like cheering on a friend.

There’s such a lovely, hopeful message hidden under the ghost stories: even when life feels cursed, magic and love are still out there waiting for you.

Haunted house romance books like this one are pure heart.

The Headmaster by Tiffany Reisz

The Headmaster

This one is gorgeously atmospheric – it feels like stepping into a dream where everything is beautiful, sad, and a little bit scary.

Gwen’s arrival at Marshall School feels like fate, and her connection with Edwin Yorke practically shimmers off the page.

I loved how this book captured the bittersweet ache of love that feels impossible but also so right.

The haunting isn’t just about ghosts – it’s about regrets, lost dreams, and second chances.

Haunted house romances like this make me feel so many emotions all at once, and even though it’s a little bit melancholy, the love story left my heart full.

Haunted Ever After by Jen DeLuca

Haunted Ever After

Cassie and Nick’s love story in Haunted Ever After is such a fun slow burn.

I adored how the town itself, Boneyard Key, felt like another character – quirky, a little weird, but full of love.

The haunted cottage mystery adds just enough mystery to keep you flipping the pages, and the romance between Cassie and Nick felt so natural and heartwarming.

Haunted house romances like this remind me that sometimes, finding a new home  –  and a new love  –  can be the most magical adventure of all.

Do Your Worst by Rosie Danan

Do Your Worst

Enemies-to-lovers and a cursed Scottish castle? Be still my haunted-house-loving heart.

Riley and Clark have that delicious I hate you/I want you energy that I can’t get enough of.

Their banter is fiery, their chemistry is off the charts, and the spooky setting just makes every moment between them even more electric.

I loved how both characters are messy, stubborn, and a little broken and how the haunted castle almost feels like it’s pushing them together.
