With spring in full swing, it’s the perfect time to stock up on new sci-fi and fantasy books, right? 

April 2025 is bringing us 18 awesome releases, and I’m so excited to share them with you.

Whether you’re into magical worlds or futuristic adventures, this list has something for everyone. 

After all, we can never have too many of these books, and I’m sure you’ll find a new favorite or two this month.

I’ve been doing this same post every month this year, so if you missed March’s releases, no worries.

But now, let’s get into the exciting new books coming out in April – these ones are definitely worth the read!

1. Last Chance to Save the World by Beth Revis (April 8th)

This is the exciting end to the Chaotic Orbits trilogy, and it’s all about Ada and Rian’s last chance to save Earth. 

The two have to break into a high-security facility and stop some dangerous nanobots from destroying everything.

It’s packed with action, twists, and even a little romance – especially since Ada and Rian have been stuck together on a spaceship (with only one bed!). 

If you like fast-paced stories with smart humor and great characters, this one’s perfect for fans of Murderbot and Wayfarers.

2. Polybius by Collin Armstrong (April 29th)

Polybius

This creepy, thrilling story is about a small town where everything goes wrong after a strange new arcade game shows up. 

Andi, a teen who just wants to save money to leave town, works at the arcade and starts noticing weird things happening. 

The game seems to be making people angry, paranoid, and even violent.

Andi and Ro, the sheriff’s son, team up to figure out what’s happening before it’s too late. 

It’s got Stranger Things vibes with lots of mystery and suspense.

3. Notes from a Regicide by Isaac Fellman (April 15th)

Notes from a Regicide

This is a powerful and emotional story about Griffon, a trans man trying to understand his second parents after they pass away. 

They taught him how to embrace being himself, but they had their own struggles too.

Griffon uses his father’s old journal, written while he was in jail, to piece together their lives, their love story, and their pain. 

It’s set in a sci-fi world, but it’s really about family, love, and identity. If you like deep and meaningful stories, this one might touch your heart.

4. One Way Witch by Nnedi Okorafor (April 29th)

One Way Witch

This story follows Najeeba, a woman in her forties who has been through a lot of loss but is ready to take back her power. 

She asks a sorcerer to teach her magic so she can face a new, terrible threat.

Set in the same world as Who Fears Death, this story is about strength, family, and fighting for what matters. 

It’s perfect for readers who love rich, magical worlds and inspiring characters and who want a taste of African science fiction books.

1. Don’t Sleep with the Dead by Nghi Vo (Apr 8th)
