This is probably an unpopular opinion for people who don’t love books, but I genuinely think the best thing you can do at the beach is read.
I don’t really enjoy going to the beach – who really wants to put their feet on hot sand and sit in the heat for hours?
It just doesn’t sound enjoyable to me.
The best way to make any situation less awful is to read, and that’s exactly what I do.

And, I especially love how it feels so forbidden.
It’s messy, emotional, and you just feel Tyler struggling between what he believes in and what he desires.
I think this one would be so much fun to read on a sunny beach day when you want something that feels a little wicked and way too good to put down.
The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory
Sometimes you just want something that feels like a big, warm hug, and The Wedding Date gives you exactly that, with a little extra spice.
Alexa and Drew meet in the cutest way (they get stuck in an elevator) and end up fake-dating for a wedding.
But soon, things start feeling very real.
I love how fun and flirty their connection is – it’s the perfect beach read when you want something light, sexy, and full of awww moments.
Plus, long-distance relationships make everything feel even more intense.
You’ll be grinning and blushing the whole time!
Lost and Lassoed by Lyla Sage
There’s something about small-town romances that just hits different when you’re relaxing on the beach, and Lost and Lassoed brings all the heat.

You’ll get swept away by the high stakes and the hot chemistry between them.
It’s darker than some romances, but still addictive.
This is the kind of book you read under your umbrella and can’t stop thinking about.
Harbor by Rebekah Weatherspoon
Harbor is one of those beautiful, emotional reads that’s still full of steam.

I think this is such a meaningful beach read because it shows that sometimes, love can be messy, complicated, and still absolutely perfect.

I’m obsessed with magical romances for beach days, and Best Hex Ever is pure cozy magic.
Dina is a kitchen witch whose love life is literally cursed – how cute and sad is that?
But when she meets Scott, a super sweet museum guy, sparks fly instantly.
Their connection is adorable and full of chemistry, but the curse makes everything complicated.
It’s funny, a little spooky (in the best way), and very, very swoony.
I love how it feels like a fairytale with a spicy twist.
This book is perfect for a beach read when you want something sweet and a little enchanting.
Not in Love by Ali Hazelwood
If you love secret romance books with lots of forbidden vibes, Not in Love will be your new beach BFF.
Rue and Eli are on opposite sides of a big business deal, but their attraction is impossible to ignore.
Their secret affair is full of tension, stolen moments, and spicy chemistry that practically sizzles off the page.
I loved how smart and strong Rue is – you’ll totally root for her.
It’s perfect for when you want a smart, sexy read that keeps you flipping pages under the sun.

I’ve already gushed about how much I love this book on the blog, but seriously, It Happened One Summer is the ultimate beach read.
Piper is this glamorous socialite who gets sent to a sleepy beach town, and she butts heads (and later falls very hard) for a rugged sea captain named Brendan.
Their chemistry is so hot but also so full of heart.
You’ll laugh, swoon, and maybe even tear up a little as Piper figures out what truly matters.
It’s spicy, sweet, and gives you all the summery feels.
Definitely bring this one to the beach – it’s pure happiness.
Icebreaker by Hannah Grace
There’s a reason Icebreaker is one of the most talked-about hockey romances – it’s just that good and spicy.
Anastasia is a serious figure skater with big dreams, and Nate is the flirty hockey captain she can’t stand at first.
Their banter is hilarious, and their chemistry is absolutely on fire.
I loved how the story shows them slowly breaking down each other’s walls.
