This is probably an unpopular opinion for people who don’t love books, but I genuinely think the best thing you can do at the beach is read.

I don’t really enjoy going to the beach – who really wants to put their feet on hot sand and sit in the heat for hours?

It just doesn’t sound enjoyable to me.

The best way to make any situation less awful is to read, and that’s exactly what I do.

If you’re also a book lover planning to hit the beach soon, this post is packed with some of the spiciest romance books you might have ever read.

You’re probably going to get hot at some point either way, so if you’re blushing, no one will even know, because you’ll literally just have to take a dip in the ocean to cool off and then continue reading.

Priest by Sierra Simone

Priest by Sierra Simone

If you’re looking for a beach read that’s super daring and steamy, Priest is perfect for you.

This book tells the story of Tyler, a young priest who’s always been all about following the rules until Poppy shows up and completely shakes his world.

And, I especially love how it feels so forbidden.

It’s messy, emotional, and you just feel Tyler struggling between what he believes in and what he desires.

I think this one would be so much fun to read on a sunny beach day when you want something that feels a little wicked and way too good to put down.

The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory

The Wedding Date scaled

Sometimes you just want something that feels like a big, warm hug, and The Wedding Date gives you exactly that, with a little extra spice.

Alexa and Drew meet in the cutest way (they get stuck in an elevator) and end up fake-dating for a wedding

But soon, things start feeling very real.

I love how fun and flirty their connection is – it’s the perfect beach read when you want something light, sexy, and full of awww moments.

Plus, long-distance relationships make everything feel even more intense.

You’ll be grinning and blushing the whole time!

Lost and Lassoed by Lyla Sage

Lost and Lassoed

There’s something about small-town romances that just hits different when you’re relaxing on the beach, and Lost and Lassoed brings all the heat.

Teddy and Gus can’t stand each other at first.

They’re total opposites, and being stuck together on a ranch makes sparks fly in the best way.

You can just feel the tension building every time they argue or steal a glance.

It’s funny, stubborn, and super spicy once they finally realize they’re totally falling for each other.

I love how it’s a mix of sweet and wild, so it is the perfect summer escape if you want a little cowboy drama.

Desperate Measures by Katee Robert

Desperate Measures by Katee

Desperate Measures is pure spice and danger.

It’s a super sexy retelling where Jasmine isn’t the innocent princess we thought she was, and Jafar is way more tempting than scary.

Their story is full of tension, control, and forbidden love, and I honestly think it’s perfect for when you’re feeling bold at the beach.

You’ll get swept away by the high stakes and the hot chemistry between them.

It’s darker than some romances, but still addictive.

This is the kind of book you read under your umbrella and can’t stop thinking about.

Harbor by Rebekah Weatherspoon

Harbor by Rebekah Weatherspoon

Harbor is one of those beautiful, emotional reads that’s still full of steam.

Brooklyn’s heart is shattered after a huge betrayal, but she finds unexpected love and healing with two men, Vaughn and Chris, who are also broken.

Their relationship is deep, healing, and, yes, very spicy.

I think this is such a meaningful beach read because it shows that sometimes, love can be messy, complicated, and still absolutely perfect.

It’s soft and steamy all at once.

Plus, it’s so different from typical romances and it feels really special to read something that celebrates love in all forms.

Best Hex Ever by Nadia El-Fassi

Best Hex Ever

I’m obsessed with magical romances for beach days, and Best Hex Ever is pure cozy magic.

Dina is a kitchen witch whose love life is literally cursed – how cute and sad is that?

But when she meets Scott, a super sweet museum guy, sparks fly instantly.

Their connection is adorable and full of chemistry, but the curse makes everything complicated.

It’s funny, a little spooky (in the best way), and very, very swoony.

I love how it feels like a fairytale with a spicy twist.

This book is perfect for a beach read when you want something sweet and a little enchanting.

Not in Love by Ali Hazelwood

Not in Love

If you love secret romance books with lots of forbidden vibes, Not in Love will be your new beach BFF.

Rue and Eli are on opposite sides of a big business deal, but their attraction is impossible to ignore.

Their secret affair is full of tension, stolen moments, and spicy chemistry that practically sizzles off the page.

I loved how smart and strong Rue is – you’ll totally root for her.

It’s perfect for when you want a smart, sexy read that keeps you flipping pages under the sun.

Plus, the we shouldn’t but we do anyway energy is so addictive.

It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey

It Happened One summer

I’ve already gushed about how much I love this book on the blog, but seriously, It Happened One Summer is the ultimate beach read.

Piper is this glamorous socialite who gets sent to a sleepy beach town, and she butts heads (and later falls very hard) for a rugged sea captain named Brendan.

Their chemistry is so hot but also so full of heart.

You’ll laugh, swoon, and maybe even tear up a little as Piper figures out what truly matters.

It’s spicy, sweet, and gives you all the summery feels.

Definitely bring this one to the beach – it’s pure happiness.

Icebreaker by Hannah Grace

Icebreaker

There’s a reason Icebreaker is one of the most talked-about hockey romances – it’s just that good and spicy.

Anastasia is a serious figure skater with big dreams, and Nate is the flirty hockey captain she can’t stand at first.

Their banter is hilarious, and their chemistry is absolutely on fire.

I loved how the story shows them slowly breaking down each other’s walls.

It’s a little bit enemies-to-lovers, a little bit sports romance, and a whole lot of steam.

This one is perfect for the beach when you want a story that’s both fun and full of heat.

The Accidental Diva by Tia Williams

The Accidental Diva

The Accidental Diva is sexy, stylish, and full of heart – everything you could want in a summer beach read.

Billie is a glamorous beauty editor who’s always had her life together until she meets Jay, a hot writer with a past that’s anything but simple.

Their chemistry is electric, and their love story is messy, beautiful, and unforgettable.

I loved how this book made New York City feel like another character, full of passion and chaos.

It’s spicy but also really emotional.

Perfect for when you want a romance that feels sexy, a little complicated, and so worth it.
