Anyone who knows me knows exactly how excited I get whenever it’s August.
Honestly, apart from feeling like it’s almost Christmas, it’s also my birthday month, so everything just feels brighter, sweeter, and so much more lovely.
And let’s not even start on the romance books coming out this August – they’re absolutely splendid.
My sweet tooth is already aching from how delightful they sound (I know you’re probably rolling your eyes because I’m totally biased and I’m not even trying to deny it!)
But seriously, these books look so amazing, and I truly think everyone should check them out.
If you’ve been keeping up with all the romance book releases of 2025, you’ll definitely want to see this post featuring the best new romance books coming out in August 2025.
I’m sure some will speak straight to your heart and make their way onto your TBR list.
I’ve already got a few that I’m planning to pre-order, and you know I’ll be trying my luck with ARCs too.
But I’m also super excited to hear what everyone else thinks about these new releases, so don’t forget to share your thoughts.
Gabriela and His Grace by Liana De la Rosa – August 26th

Gabriela is a bold and rebellious heiress who refuses to settle for just any proper husband. She wants freedom, excitement, and her own choices.
On the other side, we have Sebastian, a down-on-his-luck duke trying to save his family’s estate.
When they cross paths on a ship to Mexico, sparks fly and not the safe kind.
I love romances where two opposites are forced together and secrets start to unravel.
This one sounds like it’ll have passion, scandal, and lots of heart. I truly can’t wait to see how these two handle their unexpected feelings.
The Build-a-Boyfriend Project by Mason Deaver – August 5th

I’m so excited about this one because it feels fresh and funny, but also warm and full of heart.
Eli is stuck in life – stuck in a dead-end job and still hurting over an ex who has totally moved on. His friends push him into dating again and the date is awful.
But when his boss suggests he build a better boyfriend by teaching his awkward blind date, Peter, how to date properly – for an article – things get interesting fast.
What starts as fake dating lessons slowly turns real as Eli finds out that Peter has his own gentle charm.
I love queer romance books like this that feel hopeful and tender. I can already sense I’ll root hard for these two to find happiness. And yay for trans rep!
Well, Actually by Mazey Eddings – August 5th

Eva is tired of her sad little talk show job, but everything changes when her viral call-out of her toxic ex (who just happens to be a famous influencer teaching men how to be better partners) explodes online.
Now she’s forced to go on public dates with him as part of a redemption tour.
I adore second-chance romances with this much tension and snark, and I just know the banter here will be amazing.
Will Eva fall for the new, improved version of the boy who once broke her heart? I’ll be turning pages quickly to find out.
A Waltz on the Wild Side by Erica Ridley – August 26th

Vivian thinks the Wild Wynchesters are nothing but trouble until her cousin disappears and they’re the only ones who can help.
She teams up (grudgingly, of course) with the quiet, poetry-loving Jacob.
Enemies-to-lovers books, especially when they’re filled with reluctant teamwork, danger, and slow-burning attraction are my absolute kryptonite.
Their quest to save her cousin promises excitement, secrets, and a romance that neither expected. I can already tell this will be a lovely, thrilling read full of heart.
Zomromcom by Olivia Dade – August 5th

This one sounds so weird and wonderful andI am really looking forward to it! I mean, zombies AND a grumpy old vampire neighbor? Yes, please.
Edie tries to save her cute neighbor from zombies, only to learn he’s actually a centuries-old vampire with a big sword and a bad attitude.
I’m smiling just thinking about how much chaos (and chemistry) this story will have.
I love paranormal romance books that combine danger, humor, and sweetness, and this sounds like exactly that.
Plus, there’s a conspiracy, unlikely allies, and the question of whether love is worth risking everything for.
Endless Anger by Sav R. Miller – August 19th

I can’t lie; I’m really curious about this one because it feels intense and broody.
Asher and Lucy have a complicated past and an even more complicated present.
They’re tied together by secrets, longing, and danger at their spooky, secret-filled university.
There are secret societies, old magic, and so much tension simmering between them.
I know this one will make my heart race because their relationship seems fiery and messy in the best way.
If you love dark, mysterious love stories, this will definitely be one to watch.
Toni and Addie Go Viral by Melissa Marr – August 12th

This sounds so delightful and I’m really looking forward to the charm and sweetness it promises.
Toni, a quiet history professor, sells her detective novel and soon finds herself working with Addie, the actress who inspired her main character.
Their past fling turns into something so much bigger when fake wedding photos go viral.
I love that this is a sapphic romance filled with awkward, funny, and tender moments.
There’s showbiz drama, fake dating, and maybe real love growing underneath it all. It feels like such a joyful read and I just know it’ll make my heart happy.
The Blonde Who Came In from the Cold by Ally Carter – August 5th

I absolutely adore spy romances, and this sounds like the perfect combo of danger and longing.
Two former CIA spies – who also happen to be ex-lovers – wake up tied together, bruised, and confused.
They don’t know who’s hunting them or why, but they’ll have to trust each other to survive.
I am so ready for the action, tension, and old feelings bubbling back up.
I love the sound of their complicated past and forced teamwork. I’ll definitely be grabbing this the moment it’s out.
If Not for My Baby by Kate Golden – August 5th

I’m already swooning for this rockstar romance, because it’s been a while.
Clementine never wanted to chase big dreams until she gets the offer of a lifetime to join famous singer Halloran’s US tour.
I love that this is a story of stepping out of your comfort zone and finding love along the way.
Clementine and Halloran seem like complete opposites – she’s quiet and careful, he’s bold and poetic – but maybe they’re exactly what the other needs.
I can’t wait to read about their growing connection on tour, the music, the sparks, the late-night confessions. This feels like such a heartwarming and emotional romance.
Heart Strings by Ivy Fairbanks – August 12th

Second-chance romances always get me right in the heart, and this one sounds so beautiful.
Lo thought she left her old love behind when she moved for medical school, but now Aidan is back, the man who broke her heart when he chose fame over her.
I can already feel the tension and longing that will leap off the page when they meet again at a wedding.
Will they get another chance? Can they forgive old mistakes?
I love stories like this where love and music are tangled together, and the past won’t stay buried. I’ll be cheering for them to make things right.
Don’t all of these books sound so awesome in their own way? Let me know which ones you’re planning to add to your TBR – I’d love to hear!
