Just in case you didn’t know, I’ve been putting together a list of all the new book releases for every month in 2025.

So far, I have lists for every month from January to September at the time I’m writing this article.

Honestly, I feel like fall is definitely one of my favorite seasons of the entire year, because it always feels like the year is finally winding down.

There’s Halloween, cozy weather, and just a wonderful atmosphere all around.

And of course, if you’re a book lover like me, you don’t even need an excuse to read or to put together your seasonal reading list.

There are some books set in autumn that I absolutely adore, and if you’re someone who likes to read with a theme – or you love a certain kind of atmosphere in your books (which fall romance novels always deliver) – then you’ll definitely appreciate this post.

In this list, I’m sharing some of the very best fall romance novels I’ve read and loved, and that I think everyone else should check out too.

These books are so sweet, and every trope you can imagine is here: enemies to lovers, rivals and rivals, grumpy and sunshine – you name it!

Of course, I’ll be updating this list as the year goes by and adding even more recommendations because I always break away from my planned reading list (I really can’t help myself) – plus, there are new book releases coming out all the time.

So make sure to check out this list and add any of these wonderful fall romance books to your reading list right away.

See You Next Fall by Annabelle McCormack

See You Next Fall

Elle and Quinn have had the same special tradition for four years: they meet every first week of October with no strings, no pressure, just friendship.

It’s simple and safe, which is exactly how they both want it.

Elle’s life is rooted in Tennessee, close to family and memories of heartbreak that make her afraid to hope again. Quinn’s busy life in England, preparing to run his family’s estate, keeps him far away.

They’ve always promised no romance, no lies, just honesty. But what happens when these quiet little meetings turn into something deeper and more impossible to ignore?

I love how this book gently shows two people slowly realizing that love might be worth the risk – even when everything in life says it shouldn’t be.

If you enjoy slow-burn friends-to-lovers stories with a dash of longing, this one will wrap you up like a cozy blanket.

A Pumpkin and a Patch by Jennifer Peel

A Pumpkin and a Patch

Josie’s been stuck with a silly nickname for years because of a wild pirate story she wrote as a teenager, inspired by her childhood crush, Reece.

Now he’s all grown up and he’s suddenly back in her life for real. Worse, he’s representing her awful ex-fiancé in court.

And as if that’s not enough trouble, Reece’s adorable daughter just landed in Josie’s classroom, which means avoiding him is no longer an option (even hiding behind banana displays won’t work).

But the more time she spends with him, the more she starts wondering if real-life Reece is even better than the fantasy.

This book made me laugh and sigh because it’s full of awkward charm, pumpkin patch sweetness, and sneaky little kisses you don’t see coming.

So, it’s  perfect for autumn days when you want a romantic comedy with some heart.

A Proposal They Can’t Refuse by Natalie Caña

A Proposal They Cant Refuse by

Kamilah and Liam don’t like each other at all. But their nosy grandfathers have a plan: either get engaged or risk losing the family businesses they both love.

Kamilah wants to save her family’s Puerto Rican restaurant; Liam wants to protect his family’s whiskey distillery.

So they fake an engagement to make the grandfathers happy and get what they want.

But the more they pretend, the more real it starts to feel.

I loved how this book brought in family meddling, cultural pride, food, whiskey, and big, slow-burn chemistry.

And, it’s set in autumn in Chicago, which gave the whole story that crisp, cozy vibe.

You’ll adore this you love nosy grandfathers and fake dating gone so, so wrong (or so, so right).

Funny Feelings by Tarah DeWitt

Funny Feelings

Farley’s a stand-up comedian who lives for the stage and the spotlight. Meyer is her grumpy manager and best friend and secretly the man she’s been in love with forever.

Their friendship is the most important thing to her, so confessing her feelings feels impossible.

But when they have to fake-date for publicity, all the walls they’ve carefully built start to crumble.

I adored this one because it’s full of quiet, real love – the kind that grows over time and feels safe and exciting all at once.

Farley is a hot mess in the best way, and Meyer’s soft side sneaks up when you least expect it. And, his love for his deaf daughter adds so much sweetness.

Every page made me smile because you can see how much they belong together, even when they can’t. It’s such a charming friends-to-lovers romance with real heart.

A Not So Fictional Fall by Savannah Scott

A Not So Fictional Fall by Savannah

Tasha’s been dreaming of meeting her favorite romance author forever.

But when she finally does, it’s not the sweet old lady she imagined – it’s Pierre, a gorgeous Frenchman with dreamy glasses and a voice that could melt chocolate.

And somehow, after just one meeting, she gets asked to marry him! (For pretend… or maybe not?)

The accidental fake marriage setup is easily my favorite thing about this book.

It made me smile the whole time because it’s so full of flustered glances, awkward moments, and pumpkin spice charm.

If you want something light, sweet, and filled with bookish love, this is such a cute autumn read.

Just Don’t Fall by Emma St. Clair

Just Dont Fall

Parker thought she was over Logan, the hockey bad boy who broke her heart years ago.

But now he’s back in town, injured and grumpy and playing for her minor league team.

Worse, as the team’s social media manager, Parker has to deal with him every day. Cue the TikTok videos, awkward fake-dating moments, and old feelings sneaking back in.

I love fake dating romances, and this one gave me so many butterflies.

Parker tries to protect her heart, but Logan keeps breaking all her walls down, one smirk at a time.

You’ll want this on your fall reading list if you like swoony bad boys, small-town vibes, and second chances that make your heart race.

Pumpkin Spice and Not So Nice by Becky Monson

Pumpkin Spice and Not So Nice

Jenna has a gift for dating the wrong guys, so she’s given up on real men and now prefers swooning over Turkish drama heroes on TV.

But when a mysterious fifty-dollar bill leads her to Aidan – the moody, mysterious, way-too-handsome stranger at her family’s pumpkin patch – her boring fall takes a very interesting turn.

Aidan’s got secrets, but he also makes Jenna’s heart race like crazy.

I loved this book because it’s funny, a little chaotic, and full of flirty tension.

And, there’s something so perfect about pumpkin patch romance in the fall.

If you want a cute, quirky, slightly messy love story that will make you giggle, this one’s for you.

Given Our History by Kristyn J. Miller

Given Our History by

Honestly,  this one hit all my autumn-loving, bookish soft spots.

Clara has worked so hard to become a professor, and now she’s up for tenure. But her plans get messy when Teddy – her old best friend and first love – shows up to teach at her college.

They haven’t spoken in ten years, not since everything fell apart. Now they’re spending fall evenings together again, planning projects, sharing old memories and maybe falling back in love.

This book felt like sitting by the fire, full of soft longing and what-ifs.

I really liked how it explored second chances and the question of whether you can truly go back to someone you lost.

A Witch’s Guide to Fake Dating a Demon by Sarah Hawley

A Witchs Guide to Fake Dating

Mariel is a witch who’d rather bake cupcakes than brew spells.

But when a magic accident accidentally summons Ozroth – a real, terrifying demon – she ends up in a big mess.

To cover up her mistake, she tells everyone they’re dating. Now they’re stuck pretending to be a couple but the pretending might be turning into something real.

I thought this book was such a fun combo of magic, cozy kitchens, and slow-burn love.

Ozroth’s grumpy demon attitude and Mariel’s sunny stubbornness make such a good match.

If you want a quirky, magical fall romance with a sprinkle of Halloween charm, this one is pure delight.

Cinnamon and Spice Conundrum by Leah Busboom

Cinnamon and Spice Conundrum by Leah

This story is as cozy as warm apple cider.

Sadie runs the cutest little café in Pinecone Pines, and she’s not expecting romance this fall until a new barista shows up.

Jack is sweet, awkward, and strangely good at coffee-making for someone who claims he’s never worked in a café.

What Sadie doesn’t know is that Jack is actually Ryan, a rich CEO in disguise, who is actually hiding out from the media. Of course, secrets don’t stay secret forever.

This story made me grin because of all the funny moments, mistaken identities, and sweet café scenes (plus the cozy lattes and pastries made me so hungry!).

It’s perfect if you love a good autumn romcom with some cinnamon-spiced twists.
